Airports, ports and stations

With more than 30 years of experience, over 20 stations and more than 20 international airports under management worldwide, Gemmo is a leader in dedicated facility management with an all-inclusive global service.

Gemmo designs, implements and operates various types of facilities, and provides essential services for airports, railway stations, trams and ports.

Airports, ports and stations

Airports

Gemmo designs, develops and manages all the technological systems and services required for the operation and management of a modern airport:

  • Functional installations for flight assistance (airside)
  • Facilities related to the functionality of the airport (landside)
  • Installations related to external areas closely related to airport functionality

Gemmo also offers solutions aimed at saving energy, reducing emissions and improving operational efficiency, with incisive and measurable results, especially in medium/long-term contracts.

AIRSIDE / Flight services

AVL installations and systems, technological installations, special installations, supervision and control, MV/LV switchboards, electrical substations, absolute continuity systems, aircraft parking, BHS systems, light towers, charging systems.

LANDSIDE / Ground services

Technological systems, refrigeration plants, thermal power plants, HV/MV and MV/LV electrical substations, MV/LV switchboards, uninterruptible power supply systems, photovoltaic systems, special systems, supervision and security systems, fire protection systems, CCTV and access control systems, lighting systems, civil and structural works, BIM, CMMS/CAF, thermal imaging.

EXTERNAL SYSTEMS

Systems related to parking, landscaping, electric car charging systems, number plate reading and access control.

Stations

The construction, maintenance and operation of various assets such as lighting, HVAC and tunnel fire protection systems, CCTV, video incident detection and emergency generators are just a few examples of our experience in the field of stations and subways.
The management / maintenance activities typically cover all existing field supervision and/or automation systems (reading, transmission, control etc.) related to:

  • summer and winter air-conditioning systems: heating and cooling production plants, exchange sub-stations, distribution networks, pumping stations, air handling units, ventilation systems, standard and safety shut-off devices, terminal elements (indoor units, fan-coils, ducts, etc.) and measuring and control elements (continuous monitoring systems, sampling probes, etc.), reservoirs and tanks, both above and below ground etc.;
  • electrical installations: primary and secondary switchgear, distribution networks, user terminals, normal and emergency lighting, uninterruptible power supplies, accumulators, transformer rooms and power centres;
  • fire-fighting systems: automatic detection, extinguishing, pumping stations and accumulation systems, portable, stationary and wheeled fire extinguishers, fire dampers, smoke evacuation system, fire doors, etc.;
  • security systems: intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, supervision, data networks, etc.;
  • civil works and water and sanitary systems: indoor structures, floors, wall coverings, ceilings and false ceilings, walls, facades, roofs, internal and external fixtures and fittings, doors, seats, downpipes, sewage systems, settling pits, lifting and purification plant, treatment plant for supplied and/or discharged water, treatment plant for technological systems (e.g. water softeners, reverse osmosis), measuring and control elements, water networks from the meter to the final user, sanitary installations in general including sanitary fixtures and fittings, drainage networks, water pumping stations, reservoirs, tanks, distribution networks and related accessories, signalling and advertising installations.

Ports

Cold ironing is used to reduce fossil fuel consumption by ships at berth, and consequently the emission of pollutants. This system is used to power ships, which allows their engines to be switched off.

Gemmo implements multi-voltage and multi-frequency installations in order to meet the still non-standardised needs of ports. Each project is followed at every stage: needs analysis, design, testing and verification, and lastly commissioning.
