Hospital facilities

Every hospital is a universe

Hospital buildings are one of the most complex types of infrastructure, characterised by very different needs depending on their intended purpose:

  • hospitality (inpatient, outpatient)
  • essential care services (operating theatres, intensive care, electro-medical equipment)
  • industrial (analysis laboratories, automated warehouses)
  • computer services (server rooms)
  • management and logistics of distributed buildings.

Managing this type of service is, in fact, one of the biggest challenges for facility and energy management. Hospital buildings are highly energy-intensive (1 hospital = 2000 houses!) and require a power supply with guaranteed continuity.

Ensuring electrical continuity for information and biomedical systems that are vital for the safety of the facility and patients is crucial.

Expertise in hospitals

In the 1990s, Gemmo began to specialise in constructions and services specifically for the healthcare sector. In the early 2000s, project financing launched Gemmo into becoming the market leader in the hospital sector. Today, the company is one of the leading players in Italy for the implementation and management of technological systems.

After more than fifteen years, our experience in the integration of financial plans, the design and installation of installations and power plant, facility management and integrated services, and energy efficiency, allows us to become unique partners, integrating and optimising key activities for the technological and functional development of hospital infrastructure.

Gemmo helps prevent accidents and ensure safety with expertise gained from decades of experience in facility management, particularly in the hospital sector.

Healthcare project financing (PF)

Gemmo works mainly with two types of hospital project financing:

  • building renovation for the reorganization of indoor spaces and the implementation of new departments and operating units;
  • renovation, energy savings and Co and Tri-generation systems. In this case, it is the energy saving that pays for the modernisation and improvement of facilities and energy performance.

In general, the savings resulting from these interventions allow the initiatives to be self-financed without requiring an initial investment.
