Many years ago, Gemmo embarked on a path of continuous improvement and therefore implemented a Management System that complies with the strictest international standards.
The various certifications that have been obtained confirm this policy of improving all processes, such as quality, corporate social responsibility, environment and safety.
In August 2021, an important milestone was reached when the company was awarded a Legality Rating from the Competition and Market Authority.
Certifications
Quality ISO 9001
Gemmo’s primary objectives are:
- high quality when carrying out its activities by implementing a Quality Management System, certified since 1996 according to the international standard UNI EN ISO 9001;
- recognising and fulfilling the needs and expectations of customers and other stakeholders;
- to adopt modernisation strategies in order to provide high-level performance, with a view to concrete and effective continuous improvement.
Safety ISO 45001
Gemmo has always been sensitive to the health and safety of its employees and has confirmed its commitment to these important issues through the certification of a Health and Safety Management System according to the UNI ISO 45001 standard.
This commitment is implemented through:
- dissemination of the safety culture to all employees;
- planning interventions;
- preventive actions aimed at significantly reducing the likelihood of accidents, injuries and occupational diseases.
Environment ISO 14001
Gemmo has focused strongly and decisively on the efficient, safe and environmentally friendly use of resources by adopting an Environmental Management System (according to UNI EN ISO 14001) to:
- ensure the monitoring and management of various environmental issues, in line with growth, development and innovation policies (especially in terms of global services and project financing);
- safeguard and protect environmental elements (water, air, soil) while saving resources;
- minimise waste production.
Energy ISO 50001 and 11352
Gemmo was one of the first Italian companies to adopt an Energy Management System and achieve ISO 50001 certification. More specifically, the company:
- developed and implemented procedures to analyse energy consumption;
- implemented plans, targets and energy performance indicators to reduce consumption;
- identified opportunities to improve energy performance.
These objectives and opportunities have resulted in:
- the widespread use of remote control and remote management systems to monitor and reduce the consumption of energy carriers (methane gas and electricity);
- the operation of numerous cogeneration plants that allow energy to be produced without using energy from the grid;
- interventions on existing installations to improve energy efficiency.
Information security ISO 27001
Gemmo implements all its processes in full compliance with the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard, which aims to prevent risks for the company related to breaches of information security, also through the implementation of a series of data management controls indicated by the standard that are carried out continuously both IT and procedural levels.
Road traffic safety – RTS ISO 39001
Gemmo consolidates its focus on social responsibility by undertaking to ensuring the safety of its employees and the users of the roadways in which it operates. By adopting a Road Traffic Safety (RTS) Management System in accordance with ISO 39001:2012, the company aims to reduce road accidents and injuries, as well as increase the effectiveness and efficiency of its processes.
F-GAS Certifications
In compliance with the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 146/18 for the reduction of fluorinated greenhouse gas (F-GAS) emissions, in compliance with the Kyoto Protocol, Gemmo has obtained certifications related to:
- Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/2067, for the installation, maintenance, repair, servicing and decommissioning of stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment containing fluorinated greenhouse gases;
- Regulation (EC) 304/2008, for the installation, maintenance, repair, servicing and decommissioning of stationary fire protection systems and fire extinguishers containing fluorinated greenhouse gases.
SOA Certificate
With the SOA certificate, which qualifies the company to undertake public works, issued pursuant to Presidential Decree 207/2010, Gemmo demonstrates its capacity and experience in various categories of general works:
- civil and industrial buildings;
- roads, motorways, bridges, viaducts, railways, subways;
- electrical power plants;
- installations for high/medium voltage transformation and for the distribution of electricity in alternating current and direct current and public lighting installations;
- technological installations.
In particular, tor specialised works, Gemmo is qualified to undertake contracts involving the following:
- water and sanitary facilities, kitchens, laundries
- electromechanical conveyor systems
- pneumatic and intrusion detection systems
- traffic signalling and safety installations
- telecommunications and data transmission networks
- water treatment and purification plant
- heating and air conditioning systems
- internal electrical, telephone, radio and television.
Legality rating
n August 2021 the Italian Competition and Market Authority (AGCM) awarded GEMMO S.P.A. a Legality Rating of ★★++ out of a maximum of ★★★.
This confirms that Gemmo complies with the high standards of legality required by the AGCM, aimed at promoting and introducing principles of ethical behaviour within the company.
Company policy
The guidelines adopted by Gemmo for its entire operations, are reflected in the ‘Company Policy for Quality, Environment, Energy, Occupational Health and Safety, Road Traffic Safety, Social Responsibility and Information Security’, demonstrate the company’s conviction and commitment to achieving its objectives in order to gain competitive advantage in an effective and efficient way.
All personnel are informed of the Company Policy and is made available to all interested parties that interact with the Company.
Certification of compliance with ESG criteria
Gemmo has obtained ESG CRITERIA compliance with initiated sustainability improvement processes.
ESG (Environmental Social and Governance) criteria are used to assess a company’s commitment to the three pillars, environmental, social and governance, which measure how sustainable and responsible the company is.
