New order for Genovese sustainable mobility

Gemmo was awarded the tender for the Superbus-4 Axes of Strength Local Public Transport project to support sustainable mobility in Genoa. The work will be carried out in RTI grouping with AR.CO. WORK SOC. COOP. CONS. and COSEDIL S.p.A.

The goal of the Genoa City Administration was to start construction activities by early 2022 with the demolition and reconstruction of the Gavette shed and, subsequently, the demolition and reconstruction of the historic AMT shed in Via Bobbio, Staglieno. The latter is accompanied by the construction from scratch of 3 floors of interchange parking for a total of nearly 700 parking spaces.

The Superbus-4 Axes of Strength TPL project is a strategic project that falls within the scope of projects financed with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, PNRR. It will therefore be under the direct supervision of national and European bodies in terms of both time and cost compliance. The work is fully funded by Mims (Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility) and is a cornerstone of Genoa’s new sustainable mobility strategy and the city’s PUMS.

The project merges with the administration’s goal of moving toward a gradual phasing out of all combustion-powered public vehicles through new all-electric advanced technology vehicles (In Motion Charging / Opportunity). A further step toward more efficient, zero-emission infrastructure and public transport and a new Gemmo commitment to sustainability.
